Growing up in a lower-middle-class family, her education halted at the 7th standard due to financial constraints, prompting her to step into acting at the young age of 13.

Her foray into the entertainment industry began with stage performances in 1976-1977, where she honed her acting skills over the years until catching the attention of the esteemed Paruchuri brothers during a stage show in 1991.
